CompositesNL Demo Day Showcases the Power of Adhesive Bonding in Composites

The first CompositesNL Demo Day | Adhesive Bonding with Composites, held on Thursday 26 March 2026, brought together knowledge, technology and practical application in a unique way. During this afternoon, CompositesNL members not only gained insight into the latest developments, but also saw in the various presentations how adhesive bonding is applied in practice across different sectors.

Speakers from De Lijmacademie, Damen Naval, FibreCore Europe, VDL and IPS Adhesives shared their expertise. Throughout the technical sessions, it became clear how broad and critical the role of adhesive bonding is. Topics ranged from quality management and certification to validation under demanding conditions and applications in infrastructure and mobility.

Our host, CT Platon, provided the link to the practical application. Following an introduction to the company by Colin Stuij, Dennis Struij (CT Platon) and Stef Jaspersen (BNS Industrial) demonstrated various adhesives and processing techniques. From bonding large composite structures to spray techniques and injection bonding, the applications were made visible and tangible.

The combination of technical depth, live demonstrations and interaction between participants made this first edition a valuable and successful event. It underlines the importance of adhesive bonding as a key technology within the composites industry.
