DEMO Day: Machining Composite Materials

Innovation does not only happen in the lab or at the drawing board, but also on the shop floor. That is why CompositesNL organises its DEMO Days: hands-on events focusing on current technologies, materials and production processes.

These events bring together professionals from across the composites value chain to share knowledge and practical experience. Not just by talking about technologies, but above all by showing them in action.

Each DEMO Day focuses on a current technical topic. Experts share their knowledge in short presentations, followed by live demonstrations where participants can see the technologies in practice. This creates an environment where suppliers, manufacturers, research organisations and end users can learn from each other and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

We would like to invite you to the second CompositesNL DEMO Day, taking place on Thursday, 8 October 2026. This edition will focus entirely on the machining of composite materials.

How can composites be machined efficiently while achieving the required quality? During this DEMO Day, you will explore a range of machining and cutting techniques. From sanding and sawing to CNC machining and waterjet cutting, experts will share their knowledge and demonstrate these techniques live on a variety of composite materials, including thermoset and thermoplastic composites and glass, carbon, aramid and natural fibre-reinforced composites.
